Established in 1968, MWS has built its reputation on delivering wire sourcing solutions for its customers. With the largest, most varied inventory of magnet wire and specialty wire found anywhere, chances are we already have exactly what you need. If we don’t, we’ll find it or make it.
To meet customer deadlines, we have created an agile production facility for drawing, shaping, serving, twisting, and insulating wire for high-technology users worldwide. Short production runs and quick turnarounds are our specialty. Much of our production equipment was made exclusively for MWS to serve its customers’ specialty wire needs.
We love new things. Whether we're working with our customers on product development for new and innovative applications or shifting to full-scale production for improved performance of electronic components, MWS Wire Industries has the resources to give our customers a competitive edge.
Our Facility
At the heart of MWS Wire Industries is our state-of-the-art 75,000 sq. ft. facility and offices, with 25,000 sq. ft. manufacturing space and 40,000 sq. ft. warehouse space. This allows us to support customers from product development through the qualification phases. For this reason, MWS has a machine and equipment layout, which addresses all different product and volume options, from machines dedicated to ongoing R&D work, to high productivity equipment running continuously to feed large-scale demand from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). We also take ownership of the quality of every wire we sell at MWS. Our facility has the industry's largest and most capable quality assurance laboratory in-house.
A History of Trust, Loyalty, and Service
The story of MWS begins in the late 1960s in the attic of a garage in Chatsworth, California by following something as simple as it is powerful – customer demand. MWS’s founder, Al Friedman, was not a born wire person, he started small, believed in what he was creating and always kept his ears pointed towards the customers.
In the first few years of business, Al discovered that “Yes” is a very powerful word. “Yes, let's try that. Yes, we can make it that way.” He took orders over the phone while spooling wire by hand. He personally delivered orders when he needed to meet customer deadlines.
By following these principles, MWS evolved from a handful of employees with a small wire distribution business, to a major manufacturer and distributor with over 70 employees, active in everything from electronics and music to aerospace and medical.
